PRIVACY POLICY (DRAFT)
Relay is the learner app for a twelve-week program that helps clinicians move into technology roles. It is a learning program, not a job placement service, and it is not a crisis or health service. This policy says what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
The test build you may have been invited to
The build shared through TestFlight carries an invented cohort and learner behind “Sign in with the demo account”. Everything you see in it is made up and stays on your phone. Nothing you type in it is sent to us. The only connection the test build makes is to Expo, the service that delivers app updates, which sees your device's internet address and app version when it checks for an update.
Browsing without an account
The twelve-week curriculum is built into the app. Reading it sends nothing. The list of cohorts taking applications is public and is fetched without an account.
Applying to a cohort
When you apply, the app sends your name, your email address and your answers (your current role, the pathway you want, why now) to the program office. They are used to consider your application and to reply to you. Nothing is shared with employers unless you say so.
When you are enrolled and signed in
Once real sign-in exists, the app will keep: your account (the email address and identifier your sign-in provider gives us); your enrollment, including the assignments you are set, your hand-ins (the text you write and the links you attach), the scores and gate decisions your instructor records, your pathway, and your progress. Instructors see the hand-ins of their own learners and record grades and gate decisions with notes. Your sign-in token is kept only on your phone, in the phone's secure storage, and is cleared when you sign out.
What the app does not collect
No contacts, calendar, photos, files, microphone or camera. No location. No advertising identifier, and no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting software is in the app. The app uploads no files; a hand-in carries links you paste, not the files themselves.
Badges on a public ledger
When you finish a cohort, a badge is issued to an account address on a public ledger. The public record holds the badge name, its type, the date, and that it cannot be transferred. It holds no name, email address or other personal data. Public ledger records cannot be deleted; a badge can be marked revoked in our records, but the ledger entry stays.
Who sees your data
Your data is stored by us and used only to run the program. We do not sell it and we do not share it with advertisers. We share it only with the services that run the app for us (hosting, sign-in and app updates), with your own instructors, and when the law requires it.
Keeping your data safe
Every connection to our servers is encrypted. Your sign-in is stored only on your phone and is cleared when you sign out.
Deleting your data
Write to the contact below and ask. We close the account and remove your application, enrollment, hand-ins and progress. Badge records on the public ledger contain no personal data and stay there. An in-app control for this will be added before the app creates accounts of its own.
Children
The program is for working clinicians and the app is not meant for children. If you believe a child has applied or created an account, write to the contact below and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published at this address and the app shows it the next time it opens.
